Day Three – Romans 3

By Romans

Salvation

Romans 3:25-28
25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, 26 for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus. 27 Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith. 28 So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law.

Our salvations is and will always be based on Jesus’ sacrifice not our good works. Our good works are a result of our salvation.  No one has ever earned God’s love and that is all because of what Jesus has done. Jesus is the foundation for our righteousness and that leaves no room to boast.

Challenge: Read Romans 3. Examine your life for areas in which you need to surrender to God.

Day Two – Romans 2

Gratitude

Romans 2:4
4 Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?

There is life and freedom in God. Following God is not simply about doing everything right or wrong, it is about living close to God and having a relationship with him. It’s the difference between knowing every detail in your favorite book versus personally knowing the author. God not only invites us to know the details about the bible but he invites us to know Him personally.

Challenge: Read Romans 2. Take time connecting with God and ask Him to help you in the areas in which you are spiritually lacking. Thank Him for his kindness and your relationship with Him.
