Honoring Authority

Application: When it comes to honoring our authority its important to remember that our authority is ordained by God. And if the authority (Parents, pastors, leaders, teachers, law enforcers etc.) placed before us is ordained (or ordered) by God than we are to submit to their rules and guidelines. We live in a world where opinions and speaking/living by how we feel are often celebrated and take place of honoring our authority. When we decide to live this way and disregard the people who God ordered/entrusted to lead us we are saying with our actions that God is not incontrol of our lives. When we start control our own lives and forget about Gods plan and the people He has placed in our lives to lead us to those promises, we are ultimately saying that we don’t need God in our lives. Giving honor to authority is critical to better grow in our relationship with God.

Romans 13:1
“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.”
